Coldwater, MI—February 11, 2014— The latest product to hit the market from Zone Offroad Products are new upper control arms (UCA) for late model Dodge Ram 1500 4wd trucks. Designed as a heavy duty replacement to the factory A-Arms, these new arms are designed to work on most leveled or lifted 2006-2014 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd trucks to allow you to get more potential out of your truck’s suspension.
The issue with most leveling kits for the newer Rams results from the stock upper ball joints being maxed out prior to the suspension fully drooping out when lifted more than 1″ above stock. The ball joints are not designed for the extra strain when the suspension is bound up leading to premature ball joint failure. These new heavy duty UCAs are engineered to correct this issue by repositioning the ball joint to allow a full range of motion when used with most leveling kit and suspension lifts. These arms dwarf the factory units and are built from 1/8″ steel, boxed and fully welded with CNC-machined bushing and ball joint cups. The arms feature a durable textured black finish and come fully assembled right out of the box with OE durometer rubber bushings for quiet, reliable function. OE-style heavy duty greasable ball joints are utilized for a long service free operation and superior corrosion resistance to uniball style control arms. Hey Marc, our UCAs are designed to work with 2-3”of lift and improve upper ball joint positioning for you when combined with a strut spacer or adjustable struts. You may still need some form of differential relocation to correct CV axle angles caused by the taller strut depending on the year Ram you own. Will the UCAs work on my 2014 with a 6″ ProComp lift and Fox 2.0 coilovers?
@Hal, the UCAs are a direct replacement for the stock control arms and should fit without any issue on your truck.

Hey Patrick, these UCAs are the same length as the factory arms, but built stronger and use a repositioned ball joint cup to correct ball joint positioning at 2-3″ of lift to improve wheel travel. Going longer with the UCAs would also require a longer LCA, and replacement CV axles to correct alignment camber retain use of the 4WD.
Will these also work with the 2wd model 1500 or do you make another set that will?
Hey Rob, these have not been tested on the 2WD RAM 1500 trucks for compatibility. Based on the rest of the suspension between the 2WD and 4WD trucks I doubt these will fit the 2WD models. At this point our focus is on the RAM 1500 4WD only.
