(Click here to read Part 1 and Part 2) The Rigs of UA One of the cool things about UA is seeing the diversity of rigs that are driven on the Ultimate Adventure, from Péwé’s long travel IFS F150 to a mid-80s Land Cruiser, ’70s F250 to a couple of Samaris, an Amigo, a pair of solid-axed Nissans, 1-ton Chevys, an E-350 van, and all breeds of Jeeps. All had their advantages as well as their shortcomings, but what a sight to see the cruising through the back roads of America. This year Zone Offroad decided to build something a

(If you missed Part 1, check it out here) Now that the dust has settled and we’ve all had the chance to read up on the Ultimate Adventure (aka UA) online and in the pages of Petersen’s 4Wheel & Off-Road magazine I felt it would be good to include addition commentary on the trip, show some photos of the rigs in action, and re-hype the story. First, let me start off by saying it was an epic journey. Not in the sense of we were on a quest to find a ring or anything, but for 2 guys that grew up reading

Project MJ prepped for SEMA Zone Offroad’s Project MJ, a 1990 Jeep Comanche built to take on the 2011 Ultimate Adventure hosted by Petersen’s 4Wheel & Offroad. After completing the trip the Jeep went on display at off-road events around the country before being torn back down to prepare for SEMA.Come see us in booth #30170 (South Hall, Upper Level) to check out the rig and what’s new for 2012!

It seems like deja vu, the MJ stripped down, parts strewn throughout the R&D shop, a quickly approaching deadline and long build list left to finish. After a 6 week scramble back in May-June to gather parts and build our 1990 Jeep Comanche in time for this year’s Ultimate Adventure, the rig, and its drivers, were put to the test during the week long journey traversing over 1000 miles, some half dozen trails, and scorching 100+ days. The trip gave the guys from Zone the opportunity to test out new prototype parts from a long arm suspension, skidplates, and bumpers

The crew from Zone loaded up the show truck and trailer this past weekend and headed out to Butler, PA, birthplace of the Jeep and home of the 1st annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival. Events started Friday as downtown Butler was taken over by over 1000 Jeeps taking part in the largest Jeep parade ever and continued through the rest of the weekend as everyone made there way over to the fairgrounds. The weekend’s events included vendor show, show and shine contest, onsite obstacle course and trail rides, live music, demonstrations, historical exhibits, and more. The show saw international exposure
